Career Highlights
When it comes to golf, Austin Cook thinks big: His dream foursome includes Jack Nicklaus, Arnold Palmer and Gary Player. Austin Cook has already gotten a taste of the PGA TOUR, playing in seven events during 2015 and making the cut six times. Two of those were top-10 finishes, a T6 at the Barbasol Championship and T7 at the RBC Canadian Open. He earned enough FedExCup points as a non-TOUR member to qualify for the Web.com Tour Finals. He finished 51
st among players who did not earn cards through the Regular Season, giving him a spot for 2016 without having to go to Web.com Q-School. Austin Cook showed promise from his first PGA TOUR appearance, the 2014 FedEx St. Jude Classic, where he Monday-qualified and finished T13. Austin Cook had a memorable and inspiring visit as a spectator to the 2012 Ryder Cup at Medinah Country Club outside Chicago, where Europe staged a dramatic comeback to defeat the United States. If Austin Cook keeps progressing, he might find himself on the other side of the ropes at a Ryder Cup or Presidents Cup.
Personal Notes
Austin Cook’s favorite golf memory is playing golf with his dad and brother at Pebble Beach. Best sporting event attended was the 2013 Ryder Cup at Medinah CC outside Chicago “because it was inspiring.”. Favorite TV shows are “Blacklist” and those on the Discovery Channel. Favorite book is The Bible. Dream foursome includes Gary Player, Jack Nicklaus and Arnold Palmer. Would like to trade places with “Duck Dynasty’s” Willie Robertson for a day because he thinks it would be a lot of fun.
