Course Insight
The BMW Charity Championship presented by SYNNEX Corporation is played at three courses. In addition to host Thornblade Club, The Preserve at Verdae (7,021 yards; par 72) and The Reserve at Lake Keowee (7,112 yards; par 72) are used in the first three rounds. The director of golf at Thornblade Club is PGA TOUR Champions player Jay Haas; his son Bill Haas and 2009 U.S. Open champion Lucas Glover play out of Thornblade. The layout’s home stretch starts with back-to-back par 5s on 15 and 16, both birdie chances, followed by two of the toughest holes on the course, the par-3 17th and par-4 18th.
“I don’t care where you’re playing, to shoot 25-under and win by only two, that’s a tribute to the quality of players out here.”

How Rod Pampling Won 2015
Two-time PGA TOUR winner Rod Pampling opened with a pair of 63s and led from wire to wire to capture the BMW Charity Championship presented by SYNNEX Corporation. The 45-year-old Australia native surged to a four-stroke lead through 36 holes at 126 and his 69-66 finish earned him a two-stroke victory at 25-under 261. Roland Thatcher spiced the final round by shooting a 60, but he started 10 strokes back and ended up in third place at 265. Kelly Kraft began the final round two behind and cut the margin to one through nine holes, but never was able to pull even. Pampling surged to a three-stroke lead midway through the back nine and survived a bogey on the par-5 15th for the two-stroke win he said was in honor of his father, who died a month earlier.
